Traffic Management and Traveler Information Systems are mechanisms to alert the traveling public about road and rail conditions, in real-time. The goal of these systems is to provide transportation information to the public and allow them to make well-informed decisions about how best to get to their final destinations. Kisnn has worked with many agencies to provide this key information to the public.
Sanjay was responsible for the review, testing, and integration of NJDOT’s real time, multi-platform, information, into an integrated statewide travel information system.
Sanjay was responsible for the review, testing, and integration of the Traffic Management and Traveler Information Systems, as well as, the transit real-time schedule and travel time module.
These modules took the real-time traffic transit data from all the public road, rail and bus operators in the region and integrated it into one database and made it available to all the agencies, in real-time.
Tom was responsible for the development and implementation of the travel time system for the NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, PANYNJ, ConnDOT and NYSDOT.
This system provides the data that allows these agencies to display travel times on dynamic message signs (DMS) along their respective roadway facilities in real-time.
In addition, the travel time system allows for the query of historical travel times, so that users can determine the conditions and congestion within and around the facilities.
This system can also be used within any operations centers to monitor roadway conditions along agency roadways, as well as, other regional transportation partner facilities.
